โข Baseline therapy of dryness with emollients.
โข Suppression of mild-to-moderate AD by prolonged topical pimecrolimus or tacrolimus and continued emollients.
โข Suppression of severe flares with topical glucocorticoids followed by pimecrolimus or tacrolimus and emollients.
โข Oral and topical antibiotics to eliminate S. aureus.
โข Hydroxyzine to suppress pruritus.
