IRRITATION FIBROMAย ย ICD-10: M8810/0
โข This is a submucosal nodular scar, occurring at a site of recurrent trauma (Fig. 33-22).
โข Findings: Sessile or pedunculated, well-demarcated nodule, usually 2 cm in diameter (may be large if neglected). Normal color of the mucous membrane to pink-red; firm to hard.
โข Location: Buccal mucosa along bite line; tongue, gingiva, and labial mucosa.
โข Synonym: Bite fibroma.
โข Treatment: None. If patient is uncomfortable, excise.
