โข After systemic exposure to an allergen to which the individual had prior ACD.
โข A delayed T-cellโmediated reaction.
โข Examples: ACD to ethylenediamine โ subsequent reaction to aminophylline (which contains ethylenediamine); poison ivy dermatitis โ subsequent reaction to ingestion of cashew nuts; also antibiotics, sulfonamides, propylene glycol, metal ions, sorbic acid, and fragrances.
